Strengths: last of the ips panels
Weakness: stuck pixels
possibly the best 20 inch wide lcd on the market great viewing angles, great color, great remote, 2 of 3 had stuck pixels for the price there should be no pixel defects. it definately has the best picure quality ive seen for a 20 wide lcd but if pixel defects really bother you you might want to avoid.
Strengths: Awesome Picture, Great Contrast levels, Great for games and movies.
Weakness: Mirror coating might bother some. High Price for a 20 inch LCD monitor.
This monitor is awesome. The best purchase I made in a long while. I'm pretty picky with my pc gear. In terms of monitors, I tried the Gateway, Samsung and Dell monitors and they all can't compare to this one in terms of quality. First off let's get this fact straight. Currently, no lcd can compare with a top notch CRT. I'm coming from a Sony Trinitron G520 CRT and as much as I love this lcd my...
Strengths: high native resolution, fast response time, available USB ports, NEC customer service
Weakness: higher price, higher end graphics card needed
After having my new NEC 20WMGX2 LCD monitor for just over a week, I felt it was time to write my critique of this monitor. I am not going to do a “high tech” critique, as there are several of these already out there, but just a general one from a casual home computer builder who researches in depth before making an important purchase. This is an expensive monitor, and the name NEC has...
Strengths: Display
Weakness: None really
This is a very good TV and monitor. Very sharp display and the TV functionality works great either with the tuner or composite video inputs. The only problems I have had is using this with another remote controller so that you can integrate this into a HDTV box...so you need both controllers as NEC does not publish the TV remote control codes and says that these are proprietary.
Strengths: Beautiful graphics; sharp
Weakness: Nec is a bad company
Bought this three days ago. Sharp as a tack, but when viewing photos or TV there is bright white light coming from the four corners, instead of a nice solid black border. Called Nec and they said tough luck, we don't guarantee a uniform screen. I'm spoiled, I'm used to dealing with apple who seem to care about their costumers.
Strengths: Great visuals, able to watch TV with PIP & work on computer at same time
Weakness: Cost & glossy screen may bother some
I would definitely recommend the monitor if you are willing to pay the extra bucks. The wide screen is great. It's just a great monitor! I like everything about it. Pictures are very clear & color is sharp! The monitor replaced my old Dell 17" flat panel - what an improvement!
Strengths: Right screen size is perfect for web browsing, email, work, gaming, even entertainment. Very bright High contrast Quick response comparable to most other products Well designed interface
Weakness: Cost, cost, cost!
I'm more than happy to own this baby. I'd also like to recommend it to other people if they can afford it. You got what you pay for.
Strengths: This is THE sharpest, most vibrant and crystal clear lcd monitor I have ever seen. Orders of magnitude better than any other monitor of this size, or larger. The pixel pitch makes a huge difference.
Weakness: Glare may be an issue if you have flashlights behind you. But honestly, if you do then cover it up, this monitor is just too good to throw away because of bad lighting.
For media viewing this is the best looking monitor you can buy. The resolution and brightness on this monitor leaves the competition in the dust. Go into a store that carries this and compare like images, it's a joke. Next to this monitor the others look dark and fuzzy. Do not take my word for this, go to a store and see the proof yourself. Because You Cannot find a better lcd monitor on the...
Strengths: Color reproduction, clarity, uniformity of backlighting
Weakness: Price
This monitor is truly incredible and continues to impress after two months of usage. The clarity of the picture, the faithful reproduction of color, the viewing angles, and the complete uniformity of the backlighting make me have truly no complaints with the NEC. Even the packaging and construction is well thought out to make the monitor an enjoyable experience. I had been looking closely at the...
Great Monitor
Strengths: Big, bright, great picture
Weakness: Price. weak speakers, glare might annoy some.
I bought this monitor mainly for editing photos. Its great in that aspect: easy to calibrate, accurate color reproduction compared to prints--although you may have to dial down the brightness as the screen does tend to be TOO bright. Some may prefer a matte screen rather than a glossy screen for photo work, but I've found that glossy screen isnt much of an issue with this monitor. Compared to...
